From the Traditional wearing of the Kilt to the Guests, Bride & her Father being piped into the ceremony...

Another Celtic tradition was "Hand Fasting" which literally means "tying the knot". This originates from the Bride & Groom literally ripping a strip from their tartan Plaid & then typing it over their joined hands to symbolise the unity of their two families. (This can be done with tartan Ribbon!).

After the cutting of the Cake & Wedding Meal, it is also usual in the Highlands to end the day with a traditional Ceilidh featuring Reels & Jigs. Often led by a caller for those not familiar with the dances! |

...to including the Thistle in her bouquet to a sprig of lucky white heather on the Grooms jacket.

The Scottish "Quaich" or Loving Cup is another Highland Tradition passed around after the Ceremony to all Family & Friends. Filled with Whisky of course!
